Privacy Policy

Confidentiality is a central part of counselling. What you share in our sessions will be kept private and treated with care and respect.

There are a few situations where confidentiality may need to be broken. This would only happen if there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, or if there is a legal requirement to share information. Wherever possible, I would always aim to discuss this with you first.

I may also speak about my work in supervision, which is a normal and important part of counselling practice. This helps ensure that I am offering you the best possible support. In these conversations, your identity will always be protected.

If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, you are very welcome to ask at any time.

Your privacy is important to me. Any personal information you share will be handled with care, respect, and in line with data protection guidelines.

I may collect basic information such as your name, contact details, and relevant background information to support our work together. This information is stored securely and only used for the purpose of providing counselling.

Your information will not be shared with others without your consent, except in rare situations where there is a legal or ethical obligation to do so, such as concerns about safety.

I take steps to keep your data safe, whether that is through secure digital storage or keeping written notes in a protected space. I only keep information for as long as necessary and in line with professional requirements.

You have the right to ask about the information I hold about you, or to request changes where appropriate.

If you have any questions about how your information is used or stored, you are welcome to ask at any time.
