What To Expect
Whether we meet face to face in Surrey/ Croydon or online UK wide, sessions are a space just for you. We will go at your pace, with no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
In person sessions offer a calm, private space where you can take time out to focus on yourself. Online sessions offer the same support, with the flexibility to join from somewhere that feels safe and familiar to you.
We will spend time exploring what is going on for you, in a way that feels natural. Some sessions may be more reflective, others more practical, depending on what you need that day.
I can gently guide the session if needed, so you are not left wondering what to say. We will figure things out together.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance, just come as you are.
Initial Call
The initial call is a gentle first step, a chance for us to get to know each other a little.
We can talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for, and any questions or worries you might have. There is no pressure to share everything, you can go at your own pace.
I can also explain how I work and what sessions might look like, so you have a clear idea of what to expect.
This is also a chance for you to notice how you feel speaking with me. Feeling comfortable and supported is really important.
If it does not feel quite right, I would always encourage you to talk to me in the first instance. We can gently explore what might help you feel more at ease and find ways to build a stronger connection.
At the same time, it is completely okay if you feel that we are not the right fit. Not every counsellor will be the right match for every person, and the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work.
If it feels like the right fit, we can then arrange ongoing sessions. If not, that is completely ok too!
